Local company MHT, a world leader in the design and deployment of process automation systems for the oil and gas industry, has outgrown its offices near Scotch corner and moved to Harelands Courtyard, a new development near Melsonby.
The brain child of Barry Pittaway, Harelands is an imaginative, quality office development which was originally built in 1950 as a stables and piggery.
Malcolm Tennant, Managing Director of MHT says: “MHT have always tried to retain their base in a beautiful rural setting and the move to Harelands courtyard offices maintains this position. The move is primarily to increase our capacity for electronic production which we had outgrown in our previous premises. Harelands offers us the space and layout we need, with room for future expansion, in an environment which is pleasant and environmentally friendly.”
The development is certainly eco-friendly. Harelands has both a wind turbine and ground source heat pumps to provide cost effective energy for heating and cooling, benefiting the environment and office tenants.
Even the local ducks are pleased, having taken up residence on the pond used in the heat exchange process!
