Richmond Station, one of the town’s best-loved heritage landmarks, has now been restored for the benefit of people living in the district and for the thousands of visitors who regularly enjoy those special qualities that make Richmond, Yorkshire's most popular place to live!*
The initiative to take on this ambitious task of converting the old Victorian station into a multifunctional community and commercial centre has been led by a local charity – The Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust. After extensive public consultation an imaginative design scheme was agreed which has resulted in Richmond Station providing a diverse range of comfortable and flexible commercial accommodation.
The newly reopened station houses a two screen Cinema which can double as conferencing or large meeting areas during the day. There are also two smaller meeting and training rooms, a Station Heritage Centre and a mezzanine gallery to stage exhibitions.
Seasons Restaurant is now open and serving an excellent selection from Coffee and Cakes through to Lunch and Evening Meals.
Over one third of the entire space in the development is being let to private businesses as Offices and a series of food-focused Workspaces.
Research undertaken by the charity has indicated that visitor demand for the myriad of activities taking place within the station will generate significant footfall (over 100,000 pa) and create a range of wonderful opportunities for small food producers to demonstrate to the public, just what makes their products so appealing!
Already, The Station has attracted the Angel's Share (artisan bakery), Archers Jersey Ice cream, a Micro Brewer and a Cheese producer.
If you can see the value of concentrating some or all of your production capacity in a prestigious heritage setting, then we’d love to show you exactly what The Station has to offer.
